Accreditation Procedures for Conformity Assessment Bodies

First Step

Accreditation Application

The Certification Body carries out online registration by filling in data via the form we provide.

Registration Confirmation

The Certification Body will receive a confirmation email to continue the accreditation process.

Submitting Application Documents

The Certification Body will send information and documents within a maximum of 1 (one) month from receiving the confirmation email.

Application and Resource Review

The IAC Secretariat checks the completeness of the documents that have been sent by the certification body. The completeness of the documents must be declared complete within 4 (four) months from when the certification body submits the accreditation application.

Assessment Payment

After the documents are declared complete, the certification body must make payment for the accreditation application against the application fee bill provided by the IAC secretariat.

Audit of Documents and Records of Certification Bodies

The assessment team or personnel appointed by the IAC will audit the documents and records submitted by the Certification Body. If the audit results are deemed to be inconsistencies, the Certification Body must follow up on the audit results within 2 (two) months from the date the first document and record audit results are received by the Certification Body.

Field Assessment

The assessment team will visit the Certification Body to verify the competency related to the certification body's conformity assessment activities. The certification body will be given time to correct any non-conformities during the field assessment by attaching evidence of TP and VTP. TP for initial accreditation: 3 months, TP for SR, RA and PRL: 2 months.

Technical Committee Meeting

Review of assessment results to provide recommendations for accreditation decisions to IAC members.

Decision Making and Accreditation

Accreditation decisions are made in IAC member meetings held at least 2 (two) times in 1 (one) month

Issuer of Decrees, Certificates, and Attachments

The Decree, Certificate and attachments are submitted to the Certification Body that has received accreditation, which includes the scope of accreditation.
